What is Mega Evolution?

Mega Evolution is a brand-new idea in Pokémon X & Y. It lets certain Pokémon become extra powerful during a fight. This change doesn't last forever, but it gives them better stats (like strength and speed) and sometimes new moves. This makes battles even more strategic and fun!

Here are a few Pokémon that can Mega Evolve:

  • Mega Charizard X and Y
  • Mega Blaziken
  • Mega Mewtwo

To make a Pokémon Mega Evolve, you need two things: a special stone called a Mega Stone and a Mega Ring for your character. Using Mega Evolution at the right time in a battle can help you win!

New Pokémon and the Amazing Kalos Region

Pokémon X & Y brings more than 70 new Pokémon to meet! You'll get to choose one of three new starter Pokémon: Chespin (a Grass-type), Fennekin (a Fire-type), or Froakie (a Water-type). As you travel through Kalos, you'll find these new Pokémon and also some old favorites from other games.

Some new Pokémon you can find are:

  • Sylveon: A new Fairy-type friend that Eevee can turn into.
  • Furfrou: A Pokémon that looks like a poodle. You can even change its hairstyle!
  • Honedge: A Pokémon that looks like a sword. It can turn into Doublade and then Aegislash.

Fun Battle Changes

Pokémon X & Y has fast battles and some new ways to fight:

  • Fairy-Type Pokémon: This is a totally new type of Pokémon! Fairy types are strong against Dragon, Fighting, and Dark types.
  • Sky Battles: These are special fights in the air! Only Flying-type Pokémon or Pokémon that can fly can join in.
  • Horde Battles: Sometimes, you'll have to fight a whole group of wild Pokémon at once! It's a cool challenge.

Easy Controls for Everyone
